If Four Corners is anything to judge by then jazz is all about mood – or maybe that's just jazz fusion. As each individual track progressed I found myself creating mind pictures - as though imagining scenes in my head could help facilitate a better understanding of the music itself. So the flighty, playful strains of Mark Russo's sax during opener "Out Of Town" conjure up the theme tune to a long-forgotten, failed radio sitcom starring the likes of Terry Scott or Lance Percival. "Wildlife" carries a tribal exotic vibe evoking the Serengeti plain or an Amazonian rainforest. The breezy backing vocals in "Sightseeing" recall one of those scenes in a sixties movie where the hero and his girl are driving along a winding mountain road in a gleaming top-down convertible and the camera suddenly lifts to provide an aerial view of the magnificent scenery....and so on.
