Richard Townend's musical career was awakened at a chance jam session, after which he formed the BossCats, and gigged as a hard rocking blues trio in the style of Stevie Ray Vaughn, later to morph into the cool, eclectic sound of the Mighty Bosscats, now one of the finest bands in the current UK live music scene. Richard's work has a contemporary eclectic feel, mixing Blues, Jazz, Country and many other musical influences, favorably compared to JJ Cale, Chris Rea and Dire Straits, playing both as a solo artist and with The Bosscats. His songs have been nominated four times at the British Blues Awards. The Mighty Bosscats are Richard Townend (Guitar and Vocals); Phil Pawsey (Keys, Harp & backing vocals); Phil Wilson (Bass & backing vocals) and Glen Buck on (Drums).
