CD Information:
These tracks were frequently bootlegged but have now been digitally remastered by guitarist Jimmy Page.
Between 1969 and 1971 Led Zeppelin made recordings for the BBC. On this double-cd 'BBC Sessions' are 24 songs from these sessions.
The energetic and inspired game, the often good sound quality and the presence of a large number of Zeppelin classics make this album a valuable historical document.
Several songs: Dazed And Confused, Traveling Riverside Blues, Whole Lotta Love, Immigrant Song, Heartbreaker and of course Stairway To Heaven, with a leading role for drummer John Bonham the fully developed folkie musings of "Going to California" (in which Plant vowed to make a hejira right up to Joni Mitchell's front door), and the band's modestly popular multilayered epic "Stairway to Heaven." The Sessions also give a glimpse of nearly off-the-cuff invention in an intense take on Robert Johnson's "Traveling Riverside Blues".
