George Harrison (1943–2001) was an English guitarist, singer, and songwriter, best known as the lead guitarist of The Beatles. Often called the "Quiet Beatle," he contributed some of the band's most beloved songs, including While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Here Comes the Sun, and Something.

After The Beatles disbanded in 1970, Harrison launched a successful solo career, beginning with All Things Must Pass (1970), which featured My Sweet Lord. He also organized the Concert for Bangladesh (1971), one of the first major charity concerts.

Harrison was a devoted follower of Indian spirituality, incorporating it into his music. In the late 1980s, he co-founded The Traveling Wilburys, a supergroup with Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, and Jeff Lynne.

He passed away from cancer in 2001, leaving behind a lasting influence as both a musician and humanitarian.
