Elton John — first records
  • 1968–1969: Before fame, Elton John (born Reginald Kenneth Dwight) worked as a session musician and recorded demos with lyricist Bernie Taupin. They also wrote songs for other artists through DJM Records.
  • 1969 – Empty Sky:
His first studio album, released in the UK. It had little commercial impact at the time but later gained interest after his success.
  • 1970 – Elton John:
His second album and international breakthrough. It included “Your Song,” which became his first major hit and established him as a star.
These early records laid the foundation for his rapid rise in the early 1970s, leading to a string of classic albums like Tumbleweed Connection and Madman Across the Water.
