Blondie are an American rock band formed in New York City in 1974, fronted by singer Debbie Harry and guitarist Chris Stein. Emerging from the punk and new wave scene, they became one of the first bands to blend punk energy with pop, disco, reggae, and early rap influences.

They achieved global success in the late 1970s and early 1980s with hits like “Heart of Glass,” “Call Me,” “Atomic,” and “Rapture.” After disbanding in 1982, Blondie reunited in the late 1990s and scored another major hit with “Maria” in 1999.
